Yes “What do you love or enjoy doing that makes time stand still or cease to exist?”
We all have that thing or a few things that when we are engrossed in, time stops moving. Time ceases to exist and we are just one with whatever we’re doing. It’s in those moments we fully put our all into it.
For me I have a few things that time just stands still for;
I have reading
I have mind/brain puzzles
When I’m doing my designs | illustrating for my design business
However right about now what’s really capturing my attention is me growing my vegetable garden. I started in the middle of last year and I’m fully embracing how nature works. This year I’ve jumped in spring with planting seeds and we’ve seen them grow over a week or so. Just to see my kids faces age 5 and 14, to see a seed in my hand grow into a plant with leaves all different shapes, sizes & shades of green is just amazing.
With my kids growing up in a time where you see your food brought from a supermarket as the norm. I kind of also had that but I also was blessed to have a granddad who grew potatoes, carrots, and cabbage in the garden. I wanted to embrace that again and to show my kids that 90% of everything we eat as a family, nature is happy to help us create it.
It’s just a blessing to be able to see a seed, flourish into something beautiful that at the end of its cycle, will actually, feed my family. I think that’s just a fantastic process to be a part of. Yes, so right now it’s us vegetable gardening, working with nature as she does her thing, to provide us with fruits and vegetables. Till late in the evening, until the night skies take over.
