Question 2 of 10
You are always told to stand out from the crowd. Make your business unique in someway so you are remembered. well I ask this question to Lisabellah, Jane, Barry & Anne and you will see that everything no matter how small plays a part in making your business different from others.
I adore designing and then creating and I also enjoy the photography side so I think that these combined comes across in my business. I always try to make the finished picture of my item bright, colourful and eye catching. This helps grab attention in the extensive ocean of everyone’s gorgeous handmade items. I am still online answering messages at 3am sometimes when I feel the rest of the world is dreaming away. The amount of hours I put in is immense but rewarding.
I have over time developed my own unique style and processes. When I first started making and selling I made and sold similar products to my peers.
Hmm hard to say, there are a fair few people doing similar work to myself. But one of the main differences I guess would be that my prints are actual hand pulled screen prints and not digital print outs. Which is something that differentiates me and my work from most.
Hopefully there aren’t other businesses selling products that are too similar – we work so hard at being unique. I think the main thing that differentiates us is our ethos. I hope that doesn’t sound daft… I’ve tried to phrase it better but I can’t think of another word. I guess it’s that we’re not just making jewellery; with our Jar of Joy and Boxes and Happy (and other secret things) we’re trying to encourage people to find joy in their own lives. We want to support and encourage people spiritually… to us that’s every bit as important as being a profitable business.
