It’s important that your product images represent your products at their very best. Your viewer only has your images to help decide to buy or not to buy. I never understood why I see product images that simply do not compliment the product. It’s like taking a photograph of your product is something you have to do to get it online.

Yes, its the last step before you upload it online but this step still requires special attention and focus. You have taken the time to create your products, don’t let yourself down by uploading photographs that don’t enhance & boost your product.

The time it took to create your masterpiece also deserves the same time when taking your photographs to share with the world

Remember: People can’t touch, smell, feel, explore your product, so your images have to do that for them.

These 3 basic tips will help you when its time to take your product photos.

Ask yourself: Always ask the question if you saw your image while scrolling through Instagram would you stop and take a closer look or not?

The tips I look at when it comes to taking product photos for Instagram are:

1: The background is as important as your masterpiece. It needs to stand out from the background not blend in or disappear into the cluttered or busy patterns or designs.

2:  Composition, use the slideshow feature to add DIFFERENT angles to your product. Not other products. You SHOWING off your masterpiece in it’s BEST light. Don’t overshadow it with your other masterpieces. They all deserve to shine alone.

3: Focus, make sure your photo is in focus. This is so important that if you forget everything you read here remember the word Focus. If your images are not in focus you have potentially lost a customer. Your products have to be crystal clear so when they use the zoom feature your product can stand up to it and show off that detail they wanted to look at more closely.

4: Yes there’s a fourth tip but you need to watch the video to see what it is.

In the comments, share the photography tip that helps you take great images. We can all learn from each other.
