Can you believe this year is almost ended. Each year seems to fly by faster and faster. As this year comes to an end, I reflect on what I have achieved, what I still need to work on, what new goals I should plan and have I lived my life to the fullest.
What I have achieved
I achieved some of my goals, which were to increase my community for Best2KeepitSimple on Twitter. I have greatly increased my awareness of my blog and what I do on Linkedin. I started a Facebook page with the intention to use it to show and support you and your business. Even though I really was against using Facebook as I just do not like it. I don’t use it often for my personal profile, never mind a business page. However my intention was stronger than my dislike, so I created a business page anyway.
Did my 1st Promote ur Products Sunday on Facebook and even though only 2 people joined the promotion I am blessed that I got those 2 people. I did not promote it at all really, as I’m still fine tuning parts. I increased my Best2Kis subscribers which is always a blessing. Knowing that you want to receive more information from me as well as my online content is great.
What I need to work on
This is a tough one because I have to be honest and criticize myself. We shy away when others do it to us, but what really matters is what we can see for ourselves and have the courage to make a change.
I did a post about following others can stunt your growth, and this year I’ve had to battle hard with this one. There are so many great people, doing great things. Plus I have many projects in my head, but somethings I so over think them. More focus on doing, then analyzing and to continue learning from others and myself.
My new goals for 2015
I have been helping more small business owners on a 1-2-1 basis which wasn’t planned. However from doing this and the positive feedback I have received, I now see a way of up-scaling this to help more small businesses. This has come about from simply helping others by adding loads more value.
I will increase the promote ur products via Facebook, which happens the 1st Sunday of each month by the way. The next one will be on the 4th of January 2015. A great way to share your products you may have on sale. In 2015 I want to collaborate with some of the great people I was talking about, on a project or 2. I want to broaden my reach and help more women with their creative businesses.
Have I lived my 2014 life to the fullest
In the beginning and in the middle of 2014 I would say no. I had to much worries about what others thought, what others were doing, should I be doing that?. But in the later months I made a mind shift and it stopped me thinking about stuff that I have no control over. I enjoyed my family life and business life so much more, when I focused on what I have control over.
An there you have it my end of year of what I have achieved, what I need to work on, my new goals for 2015 & did I live my 2014 life to the fullest. What I also want to add is how I really appreciate you for reading my blog, joining me on my various social platforms and being a part of my Best2kis community. If you were not here reading my work it would be hard to carry on. Of course we all start with 0 readers, 0 followers etc.. but the goal is to turn that 0 into some kind of number other than 0. And its hard but very worth while.
I see you as my extended family online and I know some of the emails I get you share so much more with me and for that I am humbled.
Thank you for being part of my journey of learning, teaching, sharing and new connections. I look forward to seeing you in 2015 or on Twitter. Lol yes, I will be chatting over there.
So all that’s left is for you to share in the comments:
What did you achieve in 2014? What do you need to work on in 2015? What are your new goals for 2015? Did you live to the fullest in 2014?
I’ll see you in the comments.

Janet! I love your honesty and vulnerability in this post. My goal for next year is the same as yours – more focus on doing. I have so many ideas in my head and even written down on paper, but I have done little to execute and act on those ideas. 2015 is all about not adding any more new projects to my to-do list and focusing on starting/finishing the projects that are already on my list. It’s been wonderful to “meet” you via your blog, and I look forward to reading more from you in 2015.
Hi Lori,
Thank you for reading, It wasn’t a easy post to share. But I had to do it, to show me that I had grown in areas of my life. Focus is a biggy for you too 🙂 So many ideas, not enough time to get them all done, so none get done. I so hear that. But 2015 will be the year for seeing a few of your ideas through, awesome. One of the many blessings of my blog, is to meeting great people like you.
Blessings Janet
Thanks so much for sharing, Janet! I ran into some snags with my goals big time last year. I am hoping to see myself bounce back so I can share more on the blog. Best of luck to both of us 🙂
Hi Kerry,
Thanks for relating to my words. As you state, you hope to bounce back, well you already have a plan for 2015. Plus your Movers & Makers Summit in 2015 sounds pretty awesome. Your 2015 looks to start with a bang.
Best of luck to both of us 🙂 I do agree
Blessings Janet
Great post, Janet!! I really enjoyed reading your year-end reflection. We both definitely went through some of the same things including spending too much time worrying about what others were doing instead of focusing on ourselves. It can be such a trap!
I still have yet to reflect on 2014, but plan to do it this weekend. I need to block off a chunk of time so that I can really use that time to think about what worked and what didn’t work.
Happy holidays, Janet!!
Hi ya Jennifer,
Happy Holidays. The internet is so vast that its bound to effect us. So having people doing different things and they all seem like we should be doing the same is hard to ignore. But focusing on yourself is a lot harder. But this year is going to be focus on me me me.
I hope your reflection time gives you the answers you need and the plans to move forward.
Blessings Janet
