When was the last time to marketed your business while you were out and about? Does it scare you or break you out in a sweat of the thought of talking to people face to face?
If the answer is yes then you need to decide if you want to push your business and yourself out of your comfort zone or not. Being out of your comfort zone means you are progressing to new and exciting areas especially when it concerns your business. Do you know what the people in the forums you hang out with and the social media crowd have in common ? They are real people and there are an abundance of real people you can market your business to away from the internet.
If you want to make your business work why would you miss the best place to market your business for free? You are always out either shopping, at the post office, getting petrol, etc.. These are great places to share your product information. I know starting a conversation with total strangers isn’t the easiest thing, but you can work on it.
Avoiding talking to people face to face is like throwing money out of the window. Even though you have an online business people still very much exist offline too. But you know this already because you see people every day, even if it the others mom’s at the school gate.
I know of a lady by my way who is a childminder. Now i have never spoken to her, so how do i know what service she offers. This is how: She wears a fleece jacket with the words printed on the back and on the lapel, “Cathys child minding service & her contact no”. She chose a way that best suited her. She can wonder anywhere and as long as she is wearing your business information she’s marketing her business. Plus there’s no need to talk to her if you are shy, just get her digits and call her when you get home.
Don’t think self-advertising is sleazy or pushy it’s how you come across when talking to people. Plus you are proud and passionate about your business products so you should be sharing this whenever you can. People are always buying gifts for all sorts of reasons, let them think of your business when those moments arise.
The worse that can happen is they say no, i’m not interested. Time to stop hiding behind your computer screen. Share your gift with people offline.
Create a5 or even a6 cards to hand out. Or outsource the job to moo.com. Upload some gorgeous images of your products and let moo do the work. While you just wait on the delivery, then start sharing your products, to people. Or like the lady i described above, find a marketing way that fits in with you.
In the comments share how you market your business to offline customers? Can you think of some way of getting the word out with out using cards?

I buy and sell postcards online. But I am also retired and my husband and I like to travel with our trailer. I always have business cards with me and love talking about postcards and other ephemera to fellow travelers especially in RV parks. I can give them links to my blog and other selling sites. So get out there and talk to a real person. Great tips.
Hi Judy,
Thanks for sharing. you love what you do and the people you are meeting will love it too. When you enjoy your business its not marketing at all.
Thank you for enjoying my tips.

Hi Caroline,
Thats great enjoy your jewellery while showing others. Have you considered leading a few pieces to your family and friends so they too can become other walking galleries 🙂 Oh not forgetting giving them some of your business cards too.
