Learn something new every day is a statement I intend to do more of. O.k maybe not every day but a lot more often than I have been.
Being exposed to the new is refreshing for the mind and your creative inspiration. Adding new projects, challenges, hobbies etc.. to your life can release more ideas and inspiration, plus relax you (depending on the project).
If you are doing something new, you are adding to your skill set, your creative mind and getting out of the normal routine you can get stuck in. Plus the great part is that you will find enjoyment in something new. You may find you are pretty awesome at doing it and it is one more thing you can cross off your bucket list.
My 6 new challenges I intend to jump into are:
1 – Start a project where I can help a group of people which is not business related. With so many business projects, I want to relax and work on something totally different from what I am used to.
2 – Read at least 1 book a month. At present, I am reading Nelson Mandela’s Way Lessons on life. I started reading it on a recommendation from a blogger. Then a week later of getting it from the library Nelson Mandela died. I am surprised that I am enjoying the book so much it’s not what I expected. It’s an education on each page I read.
3 – My 9-year-old son wants to help other children learn their time’s tables via video. So I am helping him reach his goal. Start them young 🙂
4 – I am going to give so much more and in so many different ways. When you give, you receive 2-fold and I have over the past years. I plan on continuing the momentum.
5 – I will continue to read a bible verse a day. I used to do this before I went to bed but of course, there’s an app for that now. So now a bible verse gets sent to me every day on my phone.
6 – I defiantly want to learn how to computer code.
So that’s my 6 ways of doing something new. What will yours be? I know there are so many different things you could be starting. Just the fact of finding one that fits you could be a challenge. Well, the only way to avoid that is to just start and start small. But start.
Here is a list of ideas to help you start something new:
Remember you control how often you do it for, so don’t be hard on yourself. It supposes to be fun
1 – Drink a smoothie a day
2 – De-clutter your home one day at a time. If that’s a scary thought, de-clutter for 20 minutes a day then increase. Don’t pressure its about starting
3 – Learn a language. This site has 46 different languages you could learn and for free openculture.com. This one has 6 duolingo.com
4 – Start exercising every day. One exercise for 3 minutes could be where you start. I do squats while brushing my teeth in the morning. It’s so simple and my thighs are seeing the benefit too.
5 – Talk to one stranger each day or once a week. Don’t know what to talk about, well you could ask for the time. Or use this moment to promote your business website
6 – Give your business card to 3 strangers every day. That would be a lot of business cards and a lot more people knowing about your business
7 – Got a bad habit, don’t do it for 30 days and it should be gone for good
8 – Make a craft a day and share it on your blog, on your Instagram, on your Facebook etc..
9 – Start to meditate once a day
10 – Try a new recipe each day
11 – Want to learn a new topic, read, watch or listen to information on this topic every day
12 – Start a gratitude diary
13 – Read a book a month
14 – Read a fact about the world every day
15 – Get crafty with washi tape every day
16 – Learn how to code
17 – Video a product every day or week for your business
18 – Learn photography tips and try them every day. There are many places to get photography tips so collect them and get the picture taking.
19 – Colour in a drawing every day. Yes, adults still colour in and its super relaxing.
20 – Do a sketch a day
Your thoughts…
Have you thought of doing something new, do share? How often and how long you plan on doing it? If you already started something what is it and why did you choose that new project?

I just came across this and thought it very inspiring it’s certainly given me something to think about! I just wondered though whether you have anything specific in mind when you say ‘I am going to give so much more’? It would be good to have a few ideas/examples to know the sorts of thing you can do to give without thinking you need to go run a race for a charity etc…
Thanks for this inspirational post!
Hi Danielle,
Thanks your your positive words. What i meant about giving more ‘for me’ would be related to products, services and information i would normally sell. Giving yields so much more you would be surprised. However this is for me. You would need to look at what you do and see what you can give that is inline with you. Yes giving can be to run for a charity and to others it could mean offer free trials for a service or offering a free workshop.
Blessings Janet
