I wanted to provide you with a brief overview of 6 ways to get traffic to your business. Most of them I use or have used, so I am not talking about areas I have not experimented with myself.
Ways of getting traffic to your business are every business owner’s dream. Remember to experiment with the methods, see what works best for you.
Also, share the methods you use or have used in the past for your business. It does not matter if they did not work, it’s a learning curve all creative business owners have to endure.
1. Search Engine Optimization
I know I keep harping on about this one but that’s only because I know from experience how powerful it is. This should be the first step that comes to mind when concerning traffic. Whichever way you put it, in the Internet world, search engines matter. To be known around the internet your business needs to be recognized by major search engines e.g.: Google, Yahoo, Bing etc… Your website needs to be optimized to gain an advantage in search engines.
2. Social Bookmarking Sites
If you are sharing content with your readers then you should also be sharing your best work with Social bookmarking sites like Reddit etc.. There are many readers who view information via these sites, who will come and visit your business.
3. Freebies
We all love a freebie and so do your customers and potential customers. Consumers come running at the first sign of something free, but make sure it is relevant to your business.
4. Forums
When you write about what you know to interested people, of course, they are going to be interested in who you are and what you do. This is when they start checking out your signature links. Forums are great because you don’t need to promote your business, your signature does that for you. All you need to do is get involved and help as many people as possible. As you move around the forum with your interesting knowledge the more people will see your signature links. Oh and you don’t have to stick to forums that are in your business niche, remember many people have many different interests like I’m sure you do
5. Business Cards
Old skool marketing but it still works like a charm. Add your own twist by creating your own business cards that reflect your products.
6. Social networks
These places are expanding and changing the way you as a business owner and customers interact with each other. There are many places out there to join like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and many more. The thing is don’t just join and hope people will come to a knocking. Make the 1st move, ask a question, solve a problem, join a conversation get involved.
Whichever method(s) you use remember to monitor your traffic results.
