Christmas Chocolate Cookies

It's the season to be jolly... As Christmas moves closer and closer, preparation for the festive day is a must. Food being the most important, right before booze. This Christmas Chocolate Cookies recipe is a treat for you and the family.

You know when all the works been done and everybody's eaten all the food you spent all day preparing. Just before you relax in front of the festive TV box, you take out the tray containing your Christmas cookies, which have been calling your name all day. Sit these Christmas cookies beside your comfy sofa, get your drink and rest your feet and tuck into these Christmas cookies while watching the re-run of Scrounge or The Christmas Carol.

Indulge yourself (and your family), that's if you want to share with these yummy Christmas chocolate cookies.

Ingredients

11oz milk chocolate
100g white chocolate
4oz of brown sugar
3oz butter (soft or room temperature)
1 medium egg beaten
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
4oz self-raising flour
4oz hazelnuts chopped (any other nuts you like)

Method

1 Preheat oven to 180C/Gas 4
2 Chop 200g/7oz of the milk chocolate into rough chunks, then the white chocolate, however keep these chocolates separate.
3 Chop and melt the remaining milk chocolate
4 Beat in a bowl the sugar, butter, egg and vanilla extract until well mixed
5 Stir in the flour, milk chocolate chunks, nuts and half of the white chocolate chunks
6 Drop big spoonfuls in 12 piles onto 2 or 3 baking sheets make sure you leave room for the cookie mix will spread
7 Press the remaining milk chocolate chunks into the cookies
8 Bake for 10-12 minutes until baked (but soft in the middle)
9 Let them cool down and firm up on the baking sheets
10 Then lift off the cookies with a spatula on to a rack and leave until cool
