Mindset Work

Where could your Office be Today?

Being in business you have to wear all the hats to run it. Working in the same place day in, day out can become monotonous and sometimes even inspiration draining. If you have to balance working on the kitchen table while watching the kids, then working outside of the home may limit the new places you could work but it is still possible.

Where could your Office be Today?

Sometimes you may simply need to explore a different environment, I’m not talking about doing it all the time but once in a while is worth trying.. You would be surprised what a new bit of scenery can do to get new ideas and inspiration. Changing your work surrounding can be a great benefit even if its something you have never thought about. So let’s look at the various places outside of the home you could use as a new office even with children. Yes, children will not be your excuse.

The Library

The reference section in the library will give you a whole lot more silence. Plus sometimes in the children section, they have activities set up like colouring in or crafting for the children to get them involved in.

In the Park

This is always a nice place to visit with or without the children. You can be seated on a bench near the play area. Or you could set out a blanket on the lovely green grass. Depending on how big your park is and what different areas are available will determine where you can and cannot be with the children.

Mcdonalds

Yes, Macci Ds now has free wifi networks available. Yes, you can go here with the children but it would be more of a family moment, all eating together enjoying each others company. On your own say for a coffee while working on a few blog posts could be your ideas quickly place.

In a Garden

I know I said outside the home, but actually, the garden is outside the home :). For many, this is ideal and very convenient with and without the children. However, if you don’t have a garden then this option is not for you. Unless you ask a relative or friend if you could use their garden for a few hours. You could also use the time there to catch up on a chit chat but only when your work is done!.

By the Beach

If you are lucky enough to be within good distance of a beach then firstly I envy you and secondly great place to work and enjoy the sea breeze. While the children are building sand castles you are finishing off your work or even sketching some great ideas down.

Museums & Exhibitions

Not ideal for children because they like to run and explore. Ideal for a fresh burst of inspiration especially if you try and use the museum or exhibition at times when there are different exhibition on show.

Your Child’s Evening Activity Class

If you don’t just drop them off at the class, then you can use that hour or so to get your work down. Take some headphones and block out the noise if its too much for you to handle. If you do drop them off instead of going straight home check out a place from this list instead.

Now share in the comments the different places you have called your office for the day. What places are you planning on using as your office? Can you add to my list?.
