13 New Year Business Resolutions

I have put together 13 New Year business resolutions that will expose and improve your online business presence in any year you are reading this 🙂

Business Resolution 1

Be proud of yourself & of what you have achieved. Stop being so dam hard on yourself. You are doing the best you can and you are still in business. Trust me while you are reading this many are closing their businesses for good.

 

Business Resolution 2

Connect your business to a blog whether free or self-hosted. When customers are finished buying from your site lead them to your blog and get them involved there.

Also, visa a versa with your new blog you will lead your readers to your shop to buy. Both work great together and remember that your customers are interested in you and your products so use it to your advantage.

 

Business Resolution 3

Get your visitors to stay in touch with your blog and you by setting up an opt-in form and start collecting your visitor’s emails. You can then build up a much stronger deeper relationship over time.

Don’t worry about what you will send out. Have the list and you can work on that later, just get a form on your blog. With Mailerlite.com you can do it for free.

 

Business Resolution 4

Look at your navigation on your site, how many clicks does it take to get to where you want to be. And when you get there do you find what you were expecting or something totally different.

It should take 2 clicks to get to anywhere on your site anything longer you risk losing your customers.

 

Business Resolution 5

Revamp or declutter your site. Look at the appearance, your sidebar elements and images used or not used. Be serious and strict with yourself. What you like may not be beneficial for your customers or clients who only need a few seconds to make up their mind of whether to do business with you or not.

You are not always the best person to assess your business site because you are involved with it every day. Taking a step back and using someone else’s perspective (like moi)  is a good way of being shown things in a different light.

 

Business Resolution 6

Make it your mission to not use images that make your products look dark or dull. Or for images that do not fit your content or message you are trying to convey. The internet has a wealth of online software that allows you to tweak your images to make them pop. It’s important that you don’t lack in this area, as its your images that speak to your customers.

If you are creating content around your services, stock image site and ai are your friend to help you make your content speak to that reader. Take the time to use the right images to really resonate wit your reader.

 

Business Resolution 7

Promote your items offline as well as online. If you make bags, use your bag when you go shopping. Lend a bag to friend or family member along with your business cards. When people ask about your products get your business cards shared. If you offer services you too should still use the old marketing methods of business cards. you see all those people you pass day or weekly while living your life, you could be passing your nest client.

If you can’t use your products, ask businesses, event organizers if you can lend them your products for use or to display in return for you displaying your business information. Guess what if you don’t ask you won’t know, the worse they can say is no.

 

Business Resolution 8

Check your profiles on all your social network platforms and make sure you have links to your websites. You would be surprised how many profiles I come across that I want to explore & can’t because they do not display their site url. Also add your website to your image posts, you want to go viral i bet you do 7 you want people to share your posts. well make sure you brand website url is on your images. You have not ideas which image will get shared.

 

Business Resolution 9

Start asking for feedback from your happy customers | clients and using these testimonials on your website. Show other customers | clients how the happy they will be when they decide to purchase from you. Or your clients results & transformations they will get if they work with you.

 

Business Resolution 10

Review your prices, new year new prices. Check your material costs, labour costs, and packaging costs. Recheck your postage costs, it’s easy to forget this cost, yet it still eats into your profit. Make sure you are not undercharging. Look into offering the 1st class as well as 2nd class, you may want to give your customers the pricing options.

Service providers you are in this too, your time needs to be paid for. Increase your prices without a scarcity mindset. You believe in the work you do. You know it’s important or you would not be in business. Thus the time a clients get with you or the work you provide needs to be factored in. People who really want to work with you will not bat an eye lid on the price you charge. Those who negotiate and have excuses are either not ready to work with you are will not work with you.  Oh also offer instalment plans on your high ticket services if you don’t already. We all manage money differently & instalment plans helps people out a lot.

 

Business Resolution 11

Learn to plan ahead and start to schedule your blog posts and sharing your information on your social platforms in advance. Allowing you to free up more of your time to create, be with clients, create new products | services When you plan ahead you will be surprised how less pressured you will feel and how much more you will enjoy your business. Invest in a notebook for your blog post ideas and a platform to help you schedule your social postings.

 

Business Resolution 12

Share more of your personal journey when it comes to your products. Instead of just describing how unique your product is and how it was created with love and care, look to sharing your products story. Each product you make has a process you go through, from inspiration to idea, to concept to drawings/sketches etc… share the story behind your products to set you apart from the crowd.

Service providers you need to start with results not the struggle method. Show how your services will change, transform or solve. People will resonate with those stories more that focusing on pain points.
